Foreign Investors Acquiring Prime US Real Estate

In spite of a sluggish economy major cities like New York City here in the US and London in the UK are still thriving.
These cities have recovered from the Real Estate crisis much faster then other areas.
Although domestic investment has not fully recovered we are seeing a lot of foreign investments largely due to the week US Dollar.

Benefactors of a week US currency are the international RE investors who are the active buyers of prime us real estate. There is now a significant increase of Canadian Investors, they are active buyers of us real estate, since the Canadian dollar has appreciated above the US Dollar, which makes the US real estate market an attractive investment opportunity for them. Canadian institutions, banks are acquiring real estate properties mainly on the east coast, very active buyers in NYC and Boston.

Canadians are not the only investors with their eye on the US real estate. Chinese and Russians are also making significant investments here in the US.German investors who are typically long term real estate holders also coming to take advantage of low us dollar. They are usually interested in prime commercial real estate, targeting class A commercial buildings.

We shell see a return of domestic real estate investors when we finally see stronger growth in jobs and incomes.
